What is PVC Recycling?

PVC recycling is the process of turning discarded PVC into sustainable new profiles. We shred your end-of-life uPVC into smaller materials that get turned into contamination-free pellets. We work with an approved list of installers to turn the pellets into PVC profiles that can be used for several home improvement products.

We work with our sister company VEKA Compounds to change the perception of PVC recycling. PVC products, including windows and doors, can be recycled up to ten times and has a lifespan of around 350 years. By recycling PVC we can reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfill and lower our carbon footprint level.

Here at VEKA Recycling, we are the industry leaders in the PVC recycling industry. We launched our recycling process in Europe in 1993, before taking our business over to the UK in 2007. Each part of our business is designed to be as eco-friendly as possible. Get in touch with our team to find out more about PVC recycling.

Cost-Effective

When old PVC windows and doors get dumped into landfill, it can be costly to the taxpayer. It isn’t just the disposal of PVC, the management of the landfill is also an additional cost. By reducing the amount that we throw away, we can lower the costs of the taxpayer and provide eco-friendly products.

We also offer free collection for our PVC collection services including disposal bags. BY showing that you recycle PVC, your business will become more attractive to your customers. We can all work together to become more sustainable and protect our environment.

Sustainability

Recycling is one of the most well-known methods to becoming more sustainable. PVC waste in landfill takes years to biodegrade and often can affect natural habitats if it overfills. By recycling PVC products, we can produce windows and doors that have a 350-year lifespan, a great amount of time to reduce waste.

We also ensure that each part of our process is sustainable. From low-emission cars to recycling machinery, we are committed to lowering our carbon emissions. We work with fabricators and extruders to provide homeowners and businesses with eco-friendly PVC products.

Legislation

Numerous environmental and recycling laws are passed each year in Europe and the UK. There are certain rules that both businesses and homeowners need to comply with to protect the environment. There are many ways that we can all become more sustainable.

We have the ISO 14001 accreditation ensuring that we comply with the latest environmental standards. To achieve this certification, we go through regular audits to check that we are managing our impact effectively. By choosing us to recycle PVC with, you are complying with the latest legislation.

PVC-Recycling

We offer free collection for PVC windows and doors that need recycling. Based in Northampton, we work with companies to use low-emission vehicles to pick up materials. We choose efficient routes that reduce the amount of unnecessary time on the road. You can trust us to carry out recycling that will protect our planet.

Once the PVC materials reach our facility, it goes through an extensive recycling process. We start by shredding the PVC into smaller materials, which then gets sorted by size and colour. This is essential as we want to have access to pure PVC material so that we can produce high-quality pellets.

Any non-PVC materials and metal are then removed including handles and hinges. You do not need to worry about removing it yourself, as we have the tools to do this for you. This allows us to produce clean material. We want to ensure that you have a hassle-free experience with us.

The final stage of the process is where VEKA Compounds comes in. We have an advanced melt-filtration system that turns the raw PVC material into contamination-free pellets. This then gets passed onto our approved extruders. Our profiles can be used to make numerous products including guttering, tubing and cills.
