Main Purpose:

  • Ensure that production operations maximise output and minimise downtime safely through regular planned maintenance
  • Optimise the performance and lifecycle of operational equipment with regular preventative maintenance, working with the Production team, to identify and understand causes of equipment wear and underperformance.
  • Respond to unplanned breakdowns in a timely and effective manner, working alongside engineering and production colleagues minimise disruption.

Responsibilities:

  • Carry out all work according to Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, SOPs, Dynamic Risk Assessments and company policies and procedures
  • Minimise production downtime, by carrying out routine scheduled maintenance [PPMs], and responding to unplanned breakdowns within the stipulated time frames.
  • Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns – with a right first-time outlook
  • Maintain manual and electronic record systems
  • Ensure breakdown repairs are validated by engineering supervision and production team.
  • Maintain a safe and tidy workshop.
  • Participate in site wide improvement and team building activities

Person Specification

Essential
 
Required Knowledge
Experience: working with production process machinery, e.g. granulators, belt conveyors, hammermills, extrusion machines, colour separators
PLC operation and fault finding
Up to Level 3 qualified Engineering
Electrical installation of plant – reading of equipment schematics (Electrical-biased Engineer)
